Observing the fact-based historical book of the same name, this play follows the rise of Cromwell because he becomes Henry the VIII's closest advisor. England from the 1520s is just a heartbeat from tragedy. Then the country might be destroyed by war if the King dies without a male heir. Wed Anne Boleyn and henry VIII would like to annul his marriage of twenty decades. Many of Europe & the Pope combat him. In to this impasse steps Thomas Cromwell: a man, a bully, and a charmer, both idealist and opportunist, astute in reading people, and implacable in his ambition. But Henry is volatile: one day tender, 1 day murderous. Cromwell helps the opposition breaks, but exactly what is going to be the price tag on his win?
