The Slap is an Australian television drama show. It was initially broadcast on ABC1 from 6 October to 24 November 2011. The show is centered on The Slap, a 2008 winning novel by Australian author Christos Tsiolkas, that explores what happens when a guy slaps at a forehead.
The series was produced by Matchbox Pictures' Tony Ayres, Helen Bowden and Michael McMahon, together with Penny Chapman serving as producer. The supervisors. Jessica Hobbs, Tony Ayres Matthew Saville and Robert Connolly, led two episodes each. The writing team included Cate Shortland, Alice Bell, Brendan Cowell, Kris Mrksa and Emily Ballou.
