It series was produced by Jobsite Productions and also Mohawk Productions in association with Warner Bros.. Video, and also the theme song for the show was written and performed by They Might Be Giants.
The Oblongs aired on The WB from April 1, 2001 before May 20, 2001 and then beamed on Adult Swim from August 25, 2002 on October 20, 2002, with an overall total of thirteen events. There's been reference to a series revival with fresh episodes on Adult Swim, however, no information was announced. All episodes of The Oblongs were released on October 4, 2005 on DVD.
