Spooks: Code 9

Spooks: Code 9 is a counter-intelligence drama series broadcast on BBC Three at 2008. The series has been commissioned by BBC Fiction's controller Jane Tranter because of spin-off of their happy-go-lucky play Spooks, offering a"more maverick, younger outlook" that will draw in a 16-24-year-old audience. The series follows a set of six new young MI5 recruits that"follow another rulebook". It was created by the individual production company Kudos and has been filmed close to Leeds and Bradford. The very first two episodes were aired on BBC Three to 10 August 2008 and repeated on precisely the exact same channel on 11 August 2008. The decision to link the new project to the initial Spooks was controversial, with celebrity Georgia Moffett saying"it's marginally misleading concerning the term Spooks." And producer Chris Fry saying"that this is a totally new show. There are no cross over characters or storylines and, above all, it's set in an entirely new world." After the relatively unsuccessful first series, executive manufacturer Karen Wilson maintained that lots of the existing cast members were"contracted for another year" and summarized topics"we'd like to research whether we capture another series."
