South Pacific is really a nature documentary series by the BBC Natural History Unit, that began airing on BBC 2 on 10 May 2009. Even the six-part series polls the history of those islands of the South Pacific region. This was filmed in high-definition. South Pacific has been co-produced by the Discovery Channel and the series manufacturer was Huw Cordey. It's narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch. Filming took place over 18 weeks in a variety of distant locations such as: Anuta, Banks Islands, French Frigate Shoals, Papua New Guinea, Palmyra, Kingman Reef, Tuvalu, Palau, Caroline Islands, Tuamotus and Tanna Island in Vanuatu. On 6 May 2009, BBC Worldwide released a clip of huge wave programmer Dylan Longbottom in high-definition footage for being a preview of this series, slowmotion, bringing excessively positive responses on the video-sharing web site YouTube surfing. The series has been released on DVD and blu ray Disc on 15 . At the struggles of filming the set, a featurette takes a behind-the-scenes look at the finish of each incident. Discovery International from America released the series with narration provided by Mike Rowe.
