Tatort is just a populous German/Austrian/Swiss, crime video series collection in many sections of these countries. The series is aired on ARD'S channels in Germany, ORF two in SF1 and Austria in Switzerland. The first episode was aired on November 29, 1970. The opening sequence for this particular show has remained the same through the decades, that remains extremely strange for any long-running TV series up to date.
Each of the regional television channels that form ARD, and ORF along with SF, produces a unique episodes, starring its police inspector, some which, just such as the stopped Schimanski, have become cultural icons.
The series looks on DasErste and ORF two on Sundays at 8:15 pm and currently about 30 episodes have been made annually. As of March 2013, 865 episodes altogether are produced.
Tatort is being aired under the title Scene of the Crime on the MHz Worldview station in the United States.
