POV is just a Public Broadcasting Service public television show which features nonfiction films. POV is an initialism for purpose of opinion.
POV is your longest-running Show Case on television for documentary films. PBS gifts 1416 POV apps each year, and also the series has established over 300 films to U.S. television audiences since 1988. POV's films have a solid first-person, social-issue focus. Many directors, such as Terry Zwigoff, Jonathan Demme, Michael Moore, Errol Morris, Albert and David Maysles, Michael Apted, Frederick Wiseman, Marlon Riggs, along with Ross McElwee have had work screened.
The series has garnered both industry and critical acclaim within its 20-plus years on television. POV apps also have won major industry awards including Oscars, 32 Emmys, 3-6 Cine Golden Eagles, 15 Peabody Awards, 1 1 Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Awards, the Prix Italia and the Webby Award.
