Life of Crime revolves around women police officer called Denise Woods. Place across a span of three years (starting with the Brixton Riots of 1985), the play follows Denise because she climbs through the ranks of the Metropolitan Police Service. She struggles in an profession officers must fight to get accepted and where sexism is rife. But September morning, as dawn breaks one, Denise accompanies DS Ray Deans into some crime scene to discover the battered, bruised and strangled body of teenager Anna. With a previous encounter with the teen ager, Denise is determined to attract the killer of Anna . Denise works from the instruction and advice of her officers and follows her own lines of enquiry as the conditions of the murder of Anna aren't exactly what they first appear. Since the enquiry progresses Denise's fervor for the event leads her to fall foul DCI Ferguson, of her older officer.
