In the Warring States Period of Early China (475-221 BCE), Both Shin and Hyou are war-orphans at the Realm of Qin. They dream of one day proving themselves. One afternoon, nevertheless, Hyou has been carried to the palace with a ministry. Winding up on the side of a power-struggle, Hyou oversees to go back to the village living. Shin meets with a boy who resembles Ei Sei, Hyou. For now he is the king of Qin. Later he will grow to be the emperor Shi Huangdi.
