Head of the Class

Head of the Class is an American sitcom that ran on the ABC television network from 1986 to 1991. The show follows a group of students in the Individualized Honors Program at the fictional Monroe Senior High School in Manhattan, as well as their history educator Charlie Moore. The program has been a vehicle for Hesseman, famous for his position as radio DJ Dr. Johnny Fever from the sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati. Hesseman abandoned Head of the Class in 1990 and has been replaced by Billy Connolly as educator Billy MacGregor for its final season. Connolly seemed at a short-lived spinoff titled Billy after the show ended. The show was created and executive produced by Michael Elias and Rich Eustis. Rich Eustis had worked as a new york replacement teacher while expecting to become an actor.
