Elizabeth I is just a 2005 British drama television miniseries starring Helen Mirren as Elizabeth I of England, and directed by Tom Hooper, compiled by Nigel Williams. The miniseries covers the previous 2-4 years of her not quite 45-year reign. Part 1 focuses on the years of her relationship with the Earl of Leicester, played by Jeremy Irons. Part 2 focuses on her following connection with the Earl of Essex, played with Hugh Dancy. The series was broadcast in the United Kingdom. It afterwards aired on ABC in Australia, CBC and TMN in Canada, ATV in Hongkong, HBO from the USA, also TVNZ Television One in Newzealand. The series went on to acquire Emmy, Peabody, along with Golden Globe Awards. Helen Mirren surfaced as Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen, by the very same year.
