Bottom is just actually a British anarchic sitcom written by and starring comedian duo Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson as socially awkward, sexually inexperienced Richie Richard, along with carefree alcoholic Eddie Hitler, two societal outcasts living on the dole, trapped together in an everyday grind in a squalid flat in Hammersmith, London. Bored skint and sexually frustrated, they spend bickering, , and being sadistic and ugly to one another. The series ran for three series broadcasting from 1991 - 1995, and was followed by five stage series tours over a feature picture guesthouse Paradiso, and the United Kingdom between 2003 and 1993. The series is noted for its nihilistic humour and comedy slapstick that was barbarous.
Back in 2008, Bottom came in at number 45 in a poll to determine"Britain's Best Sitcom" by the BBC. The series is still shown on Gold and Dave, and has been dubbed in different languages. Back in Spain the series is referred to as La pareja basura that aired on Canal+. The theme music was supplied by The Bum Notes, a group that featured Edmondson, also will be now just actually a cover of"Last Night" by The Mar-Keys.
Plans were made for a BBC spin off collection, Hooligan's Island, including the Richie and Eddie personalities. However, that job had been cancelled that October prior to production as Edmondson clarified that he wished to pursue different interests.
