Beauty and the Beast
The American drama series Beauty and the Beast premiered on CBS in 1987. The romance between Vincent, a mythical, noble man-beast, and Catherine, a clever Assistant District Attorney in New York, and a secret Utopian community of social outcasts residing in an underground refuge are the focal points of creator Ron Koslow's modernized retelling of the fairy tale. Vincent becomes Catherine's protector as a result of an empathic relationship.
