The protagonist was "an ancient, baggy, fabric cat, with seams that were a little loose." Although there were only 13 episodes of the show, it is still widely remembered and was regularly rebroadcast in the UK for thirteen years. In1999, a BBC poll ranked Bagpuss as the most popular children's television show in the United Kingdom.
