Dan Gillis, an American screenwriter residing in Paris, recently divorced and struggling to care for his son Danny, is hired to create a movie. Legrand, a prominent producer with whom he has previously worked, asks him to write an innovative screenplay with Malcolm, a young and unknown film director. However, Legrand's persistence and the young director's fascinating personality finally persuade Dan to accept the task, despite Marilyn, his attractive but crippled agent. Dan soon realizes that more is at risk than just a movie. A restricted realm of incestuous interactions surrounds Malcolm and his beautiful young sister Jenny, with whom Dan eventually falls enamored.
