TRUE TO THE GAME II picks up a year after the events of the first book, focusing on the lives of the characters impacted by Quadir's murder. Gena has rebuilt herself as a journalist, living and working in New York City. She has distanced herself from Philadelphia's violent environment while still grieving the death of Quadir. Gena is at a crossroads in her profession when she discovers an opportunity to travel to Los Angeles and decides to spend the time to discover herself. While Gena is away from home, her life in Philadelphia never fails to make an appearance. Someone with ties to Quadir has seized Jerrell's shipment, prompting him to embark on a campaign to ascertain who is responsible. Jerrell is hell-bent on obtaining payment through any means necessary, and he intends to begin with Gena.
