Tristana
Tristana is just a Spanish woman left into the care of Don Lope, a protective however impoverished aristocrat. Don sells his possessions prevent manual labor and champions the causes of the dispossessed and downtrodden. He takes good advantage of those exposed Tristana, who leaves him when she falls in love with Horacio. When she falls ill, unable to commit to him she returns to Don Lope. He wants her hand in marriage, after losing her leg and she accepts. She chooses to keep in a marriage and never be subject to the harsh realities of a society which will not shift to the needs of women.
