Time of the Wolves

The criminal (Robert Hossein), who is modeled after American gangster John Dillinger, is pursued by the inspector (Charles Aznavour), a childhood buddy. The killer is apprehended using a combination of gunplay and psychology. Stella, his lover, is his only source of tenderness (Virna Lisi). During a gunfight with the cops, Dillinger is cornered and kills several innocent people in the crowd. When the condemned man runs out of ammunition, the mob decides to take matters into their own hands, approaching him with a noose.
