A take-no-prisoners young woman named Gayce sells a hallucinogenic substance known as "theta," which she uses to help her pals' all-girl rock band get a following. When Gayce's friends are brutally murdered, she is forced to uncover the mystery behind the killings while also protecting herself from the perpetrator. In discovering the connections between theta and the killings, she comes face to face with a horrifying reality. That the world— and, indeed, her entire reality— is not what it appears to be.
