The Reluctant Astronaut

This movie is about Roy Fleming, a child ride operator in a small town. His father had signed him up for space, but upon arriving in Houston, Roy was shocked to realize that his new position was as an employee in the building maintenance department. In order to please his dominating father, Roy feigns that he is an astronaut in order to maintain the charade with his family and friends. During a NASA test of a new automated satellite, an ordinary citizen named Roy has the chance to face his anxieties by being launched into space.
