Widower Tom, on the recent passing away of his spouse Mary, uses his totally free bus pass to travel the length of Britain from John O'Groats in Scotland to Land's End in Cornwall, their shared birthplace, utilizing just local buses. It's an incident-fuelled fond memories journey and his encounters with regional individuals make him a media phenomenon.
