Based upon the Reginald Berkeley phase play, this compelling historical dramatization provides a depiction of the life story of Florence Nightingale (Anna Neagle), the young 19th-century Englishwoman notoriously attracted to a job in nursing. Traveling to Turkey during the Crimean War, Florence gets a credibility for being committed to the care of damaged soldiers and also for introducing higher criteria for hygienic medical facility conditions.
