The Island of Lies

Galicia, in northern Spain, on the 2nd of January, 1921. The steamship Santa Isabel, which was headed for Argentina and had more than two hundred emigrants on board, went down in the waters off the shore of Sálvora Island. Three island women, Maria, Josefa, and Cipriana, who courageously set sail aboard a flimsy skiff to help the stranded are treated as heroes by the cynical authorities; nevertheless, León, an inquisitive and tenacious Argentinian journalist starts asking difficult questions.
