Gui-su loses everything in the 1990s, when Go gambling fever swept Korea, because his father gambled obsessively until there was nothing left. Gui-su, who is all alone in the world, meets a mentor and Go teacher, Il-do, and undergoes arduous training to become the grandmaster of Go. He sets out to exact revenge on the world that destroyed his life, but he is soon pursued by an unknown loner on his own vendetta.
