The minister of an once lively, landmark Baptist church, now having a hard time to endure, is the sole hold-out in a decaying Philadelphia area allocated for gentrification. Yet eventually, the preacher's cold-blooded resolve to protect his family's evangelical tradition in the community and also dwindling congregation liquifies under relentless stress from his status-seeking spouse and greedy church leaders-- Tempted by cash money bribes and assures from underhanded developers to establish a flashy "mega-ministry" elsewhere. Soon, the spirits of founding congregational members-- mixed from the disquiet of their tombs by the remorseless trespasses of one more generation-- start to make their annoyance known. As the sinners-- suddenly as well as inexplicably bound within the confines of the sanctuary-- fall prey, they need to all re-examine their options as well as acquiesce the will of the covenant ... only to expose the exemplary amongst them.
