Barcelona in the early 1900s has two cities. The first, bourgeois and modernist, the other dirty and disgusting. Teresa Guitart, the affluent family's little daughter, disappears, shocking the nation. The police suspect "The Barcelona Vampiress" Enriqueta Marti. Sebastia Comas, a journalist, enters the Raval neighborhood's labyrinth of streets, brothels, and secrets to uncover the Vampiress's kidnappings and gruesome deaths of children. His investigations will show a sleazy elite who will do anything to hide their filthy vices.
