The movie is put in a Europe ravaged by wars, and throughout the early years of the Reformation, in 1521 Antwerp. It tells the story of the twelve months old, Falko Voeten -- a printer son. Klaas Voeten, a printer of literature, is captured by the Inquisition for printing a letter written by Maarten Luther when Falko's daddy. Falko is propelled to searching for that letter and right into helping his father. Threatened by the Inquisition but helped by Marieke, a Catholic girl from the underground sewers, Falko is faced with a race against time when he's to save his father from being executed for heresy.
