Safety to Nome
Every February, four dozen athletes are flown to Alaska for a voyage that tests their bodies, minds, and wills to achieve and live. The Iditarod Trail Invitational is a 1000 mile bike, foot, or ski race through the Alaskan arctic. More people climb Everest in an afternoon than ride a bicycle from Anchorage to Nome. This year, 26 racers will try the 1000-mile Iditarod Trail. The quickest time is 12 days. The longest is 30.
