Royal Shakespeare Company: Cymbeline

Britain is in a state of crisis. An ineffective Queen Cymbeline is in charge of a fractured United Kingdom under her tutelage. Given Cymbeline's recent loss of two children, her judgment is skewed. Cymbeline is furious when the last surviving heir, Innogen, secretly marries her sweetheart Posthumus. They are being hunted by someone intent on seizing control of the throne by killing both of them. in exile, Innogen's husband is fooled into believing she has cheated on him, and in an act of jealousy sets out to have her killed. Since Cymbeline has been warned of the danger, Innogen has fled the court in disguise and is now on a perilous journey that will hopefully lead to the reconciliation of the young lovers.
