Allison, a wealthy Goldfield powerbroker, adopted Julie and made her his trophy. This life brought the gift of caring and the expense of greater abuse. Julie is given two chances to leave with two very different guys as her time with Allison draws to a conclusion... Painted Woman is divided into two halves, each mirroring the other in Julie's life. In the first chapter, Julie meets Frank. Most of the story is told at night in Goldfield. The Mustanger is in Chapter Two. Set in the wilderness, it is largely daytime.
