A kind old lady gives Stan and Ollie sandwiches when they beg for food. Their conversation is interrupted by a landlord's threat to evict the woman if she does not pay the mortgage. In fact, they have no idea that the elderly woman is actually practicing for a play. They decide to sell their car in order to support the elderly woman.
