Abandoned by her mother, young Ichiko leaves her life in the city to live off the property a tiny town nestled among the hills in Japan, in Komori. Despite the void left by her mother's disappearance, Ichiko comes to appreciate her liberty and revels in her new-found connection with food and the elements. As she learns to use and respect the wisdom of rural inhabitants and read the cycle of life and connectedness visually luxuriant , this picture follows Ichiko through one summer and autumn.
