The Tibetans refer as' Kundun', this means' The Presence' to the Dalai Lama. When communist China lacked he had been forced to escape from his native home, Tibet and enforced an undercover regime. Even the Dalai Lama was living in exile at Dharamsala from the time and escaped to India in 1959.
