Founded on a Thai novel, the film tells the story of Jan, a boy who grows up in a house lorded over Luang Wisnan, by his debauched and sadistic dad. Place in the 1930?s the story recounts the growing pains of Jan, whose mother dies while giving birth to him and who's profoundly loathed by his own dad. Jan develops with Aunt Wadhis step mother, and he struggles to reconcile his own guilt and unhappiness with various women in his life, including a lady named Hyacinth, whom he loves, and later Madame Boonleunghis daddy's buff who becomes a key to Jan's sensual awakening.
