The way of life in Grandview, Illinois, a tiny town in Illinois, is the same as it is in any other city or town. Oceanography is Tim Pearson's chosen field of study once he graduates from high school in Florida. Mike "Mike" Cody draws him in when they first meet. She's in charge of the local Demolition Derby team. "Slam" Webster, one of the drivers in the derby, is married, and his wife is having an affair with Mike and wants to be with him in the future. There will be a love triangle in Tim's life after he falls for Mike.
