Good Morning
A lighthearted take on the perennial subject of the challenges of relationships of director Yasujiro Ozu , Good Morning tells the story of two young boys that stop after their parents will not obtain a television set, speaking in demonstration. Ozu weaves a wealth of gags through a family group portrait as the ones of his films of his son protagonists. Shot in stunning color and place in a suburb of Tokyo where housewives gossip around the neighbors' brand fresh washer and also unemployed husbands start looking for work like door-to-door salesmen, this magical humor refashions Ozu's own hushed classic I Was Born, But... to softly satirize consumerism in postwar Japan.
