American short subject film from black, which is noteworthy as the primary movie directed by Stanley Kubrick. Kubrick financed the film himself, and it's predicated in an earlier photo feature he'd achieved as a photographer for Look magazine in 1949. 'Day of the Fight' shows irish american middle weight boxer Walter Cartier on a fight with black middleweight Bobby James' afternoon, which took place on April 17, 1950, throughout the height of his career.
