Dating Amber

"Dating Amber" is an insightful look at the highs and lows of adolescent life, in which the only way to fit in is to pretend you're someone you're not. Set in Ireland in the mid-1990s, Eddie and Amber (both 17) decide to create a relationship in order to keep the public from wondering about their sexual orientation. Eddie wants to follow in his father's footsteps and join the military, while Amber dreams of moving to London's liberal heartland to be closer to her family. Their "perfect" arrangement begins to disintegrate, putting Eddie in a deeper state of denial while Amber realizes that her best friend's life is in danger unless she intervenes.
