On the day Jean Gabin dies, a kidnapper kills Simon Verini's wife and steals Cartiers' jewelry. Simon fenced gems for a group that robbed Cartiers and suspects them of murder. Framed for the theft, he spends ten years in prison, writing to his 11-year-old daughter Marie-Sophie. He reunites with Marie-Sophie and the teenage thieves, seeks retribution, and gets caught again.
