A NYC Professor (Justin Long) spends the week re connecting with his family whilst defending his standing within contentious behaviour in his faculty. Meanwhile, his family is made to make an eye-opening attempt to confirm their matriarch, Agatha (Lynn Cohen), once she's confessed to New York's Presbyterian Hospital and is expected to expire within a few days. No one's tackling this particularly well and, to make matters worse, each family member is struggling along with different problems of their particular. Agatha's daughter, Diane (Fran Drescher) is fully unprepared for a lifetime without her mother, and strangely enough, she eventually ends up finding comfort in an unexpected place... her exhusband.
