Charismatic detective Gil Mayo wise cracks his way through many different murder mysteries Alex Jones, alongside his colleague. Matters are not simple between the flames that are old as flirtation can be something more but who will make the first move? Life is further complicated by Gil's precocious daughter Julie, who he is bringing up after the disappearance of the wife by himself. The detective does come up with a novel means to deal with the piles of bills he keeps receiving though - concealing them!
