Kath & Kim is a American variant of the exact same name starring Selma Blair and Molly Shannon's television comedy group. The series premiered on NBC on October 9, 2008. The Australian version was created by its own original celebrities, Jane Turner and Gina Riley, that also function as executive producers and advisers about this variant as well, that will be co-produced through Reveille Productions and Universal Media Studios.
Its very first episode was launched October 12 and its own broadcast has been cancelled after the second episode the following week. The series was then pushed to a graveyard slot of 11pm Mondays, then pre-empted to the 2009 Australian Open after the first-run airing of episode 9,"Friends". Although the series initially gained reviews by critics and unremarkable ratings, NBC picked up Kath & Kim to get a full season order of 22 episodes. On January 15, 2009, NBC cut the episode order. The season finale of the show aired on March 12, 2009. On May19, 2009, NBC confirmed the string cancellation.
