G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero is actually just a half-hour American animated television series based on the prosperous toyline out of Hasbro and the comic book series from Marvel Comics. The cartoon had its infancy using just two five-part mini-series in 1984 and 1983, then became a regular series that ran from 1985 to 1986. Ron Friedman created the G.I. Joe animated series for television, also wrote all of four miniseries. As a result of production difficulties premiered as a television mini series, although the fourth mini series has been intended to be a feature film.
