Cybill is a American television sitcom made by Chuck Lorre, that aired on CBS in January 2, 1995. Starring, Cybill Shepherdrevolves around the life span of both a twice-divorced single mum of two, Cybill Sheridan and struggling celebrity in her 40s, who has never gotten her show business break. Alicia Witt and Dedee Pfeiffer co-starred with Alan Rosenberg and Tom Wopat while Christine Baranski looked as Cybill's hard-drinking friend Maryann playing with their dads each, as Sheridan's daughters.
The sitcom has been produced by YBYL Productions and also Carsey-Werner Productions, with Jay Daniel Shepherd, Lorre, Howard Gould, Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner serving as the first executive producers of the show. Broadcast to significant praise, Cybill has been nominated for twelve Emmy awards during its run and given the 1996 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series -- Musical or Comedy. Shepherd won a Golden Globe Award for his performance, although Baranski acquired an American Comedy Award, a SAG and an Emmy.
