Emily Crane is fired after refusing to reveal names to the House Un-American Activities Committee in1951, and she finds a part-time work as an elderly lady's companion. One day, her attention is pulled to a loud quarrel in a neighboring house, especially as one of people involved is her major senate prosecutor.
