Marshal Flagg, an aging lawman going to be retired, hears that his old nemesis, the outlaw McKaye, is back in the region and planning for a robbery. Riding outside down McKaye, the gang of McKaye captures Flagg and realizes that McKaye is the first choice of the gang, but is still believed only an aging relic by the president. Waco requests Mackaye to take Flagg, if Mackaye fails Waco abandons both of them. Flagg then takes Mackaye back to town only to get out that he was"retired", when he sees clueless and incompetent the brand new marshal and the town fathers are, he uttered Mackaye which it's up to the two of them to discontinue Waco along with his gang by ravaging town.
