Wyatt Earp and his brothers Virgil and Morgan ride into Tombstone and leave brother James in charge of their cattle herd. They find their cattle James dead and stolen. Wyatt takes on the function of town marshal, making his brothers deputies, and promises to stay at Tombstone before James' killers are all found. He runs into the brooding, coughing, and hard-drinking Doc Holliday in addition to the sullen and Clanton clan. Wyatt discovers whoever owns a trinket discharged from James' body and the point is defined for the Earps' revenge.
