Uncovering love is not easy. To get Ravi Patel, a primary generation Indian-American, the chances are slim. His perfect bride is so beautiful, bright, funny, family-oriented, kind and--in maintaining tradition--Indian (though hopefully raised in the united states ). Oh, and her name should be Patel as in India, Patels are ordinarily married by Patels. So at 30, Ravi decides to breakup with his girlfriend (the one who by all reports is excellent for him except for her red hair and American name) and embark on a global hunt for the following Patel yearning to be loved. He enlists the assistance of his match maker mother, attends a convention of Patels living in the US and journeys into wedding season in India. With which we all struggle, honest and heart felt, this humor explores the questions : What's love? What's happiness? And how in the world do we go about finding these?
