Forbidden Love: The Unashamed Stories of Lesbian Lives
During the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s, ten Canadian women talk about their experiences as lesbians in the following areas: discovering the pulp fiction of the time about women in love; their own first affairs; the pain of breaking up; frequenting gay bars; facing police raids; the reactions of men; and the etiquette of butch and femme roles. In between the interviews and the historical material, there are four dramatic adaptations of chapters from a pulp novel called "Forbidden Love."
